Why should I use natural deodorant?
Natural deodorant focuses on only putting quality ingredients on and into your skin that will give you a better cleaner feeling, and still keep you free of odor all day !
We do this through natures gifts such as coconut oil, arrowroot powder, beeswax, shea butter, essential oils, and more.
Keep the aluminum, parabens, propylene glycol, stearates, and artificial fragrance out of your armpits. Personally, we come from the belief that if you can’t pronounce the word, it shouldn’t be going into your body.
If you’ve been using traditional drug store deodorant for a while, you may be aware of some of the negative effects it can have on the skin.
The skin is our most absorbent organ, and what ever we apply to it goes directly into our bloodstream. When we put toxic and harmful chemicals on our skin, this can lead to hormone disruption, dryness and irritation, ph imbalance, and has even been linked to Altzheimer’s Disease, and Breast Cancer.
Will this deodorant clog my pores?
No, actually the opposite. Traditional antiperspirants focus on clogging your pores, however this is not ideal because our bodies naturally detoxify through sweating.
Breathe Naturals keeps you feeling dry by using Arrowroot Powder to absorb moisture, and Magnesium Hydroxide to kill odor and bacteria.
We made sure that all of the ingredients in our deodorant are non-comedogenic, and allow your body to properly detoxify, while still keeping your armpits both dry, and fresh smelling.
Your pores will be able to breathe, and perform normally, and after a short detoxifying period once you’ve rid your system of aluminum and traditional deodorant, you will begin to sweat less on your own.
Explain the "detox" period
If you’re transitioning from a traditional antiperspirant to our natural deodorant, some may experience a short period where your body is detoxifying. For most, the switch can be made instantly and successfully, but some may take around a week. This is just your body’s way of getting rid of toxins that were previously blocked in your sweat glands by aluminum and other chemicals.
Is the Deodorant Unisex?
Yes! Our deodorant is meant to be used by both men and women. It is completely up to you which scent you prefer, and we hope you enjoy!
Is Breathe Naturals Cruelty Free?
Yes ! We are committed to ending animal testing, and do not support it in any way. Our deodorant was only tested on humans, and is 100% cruelty free, and vegan.
I'm experiencing some irritation/ rash from using the natural deodorant. What can I do?
Some people may experience irritation from the baking soda in our deodorant. The good news is, this can be worked through in most cases. Your pits may need some time to adjust to the rough or alkaline nature of baking soda. If irritation persists or becomes painful, please discontinue use, we are working on a “sensitive skin” version, without any baking soda in it. If you have any questions or specific concerns, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We want you to have a successful pit detox, and love the natural deodorant life as much s we do !
Is Breathe Naturals Deodorant safe for kids
Yes! In fact, we would recommend all kids to use a natural deodorant that is safe for their skin, and it is important to introduce that at a young age. By kids, we mean ages 12 up, and would say 1 swipe of deodorant should be sufficient for their level of perspiration and odor.
Is Breathe Naturals also an Antiperspirant
No, an antiperspirant reduces perspiration by creating a plug near the top of the sweat glands. Breathe Naturals does not intend to block your pores, or prevent your body from sweating. Rather, we use natural ingredients such as arrowroot powder to absorb moisture, and coconut oil, beeswax, essential oils, magnesium hydroxide, and sodium bicarbonate to eliminate odor and prevent bacteria from growing in your armpit (which is the source of the odor).
We firmly believe our bodies are intelligent beings and sweat for a reason (to detoxify). One of the best parts of using natural deodorants and Breathe Naturals in particular is to put your body back in balance and Reset your Sweat!

Will I get pit stains?
Let’s be real, nobody likes pit stains, and this can be a big concern when transitioning to a new deodorant. Contrary to popular belief, its not your sweat alone that causes golden pits, but a chemical reaction that results from Apocrine Sweat mixed with the aluminum in traditional deodorants (good thing BN doesn’t contain any).
Humans have a few different types of sweat glands. Eccrine sweat glands cover the whole body, and are an important mechanism to keeping us cool. It usually evaporates quickly, and doesn’t contain any odor.
Next, we have apocrine sweat glands, which cover our underarms, and produce a sweat thats packed with proteins and fats. The pit stains that we all fear, are actually cause when the proteins in apocrine sweat mixes with the aluminum chloride in deodorant.
The solution however? Breathe Naturals Deodorant. Ditch the aluminum packed traditional deodorants, and ditch the yellow sweat stains.
On a side note, if too much deodorant is applied, and you sweat heavily, there may be a bit of deodorant on the inside of your shirt underarm (white in color, not yellow), but it should not go all the way through to be visible. Unlike most deodorants, this comes out completely in the wash.
